A Funeral Mass outline families can follow
The planning outline is organized under Introductory Rites, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist, and Final Commendation. Within those headings, the builder places preferred reading references, music titles, and proposed ministers into the corresponding section for parish review.
- First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, optional Second Reading, Gospel Acclamation, and Gospel
- Entrance, preparation, Eucharistic acclamation, Communion, and procession music placements
- Words of Remembrance clearly marked as parish-dependent
- A distinct Final Commendation with the Song of Farewell
The parish remains the final authority
A liturgical date, local music policy, the presence of cremated remains, or another pastoral circumstance can change what is appropriate. When cremated remains are present, for example, the funeral pall is not used. When no remains are present, the parish may plan a Memorial Mass or another Mass for the Dead without the reception of the body or Final Commendation. The review screen turns these details into a practical parish checklist rather than replacing local pastoral guidance.
Designed for the final printing deadline
When the choices are confirmed, download a sequential reading copy for a print shop and a booklet-imposed home-print version with simple double-sided instructions. The same purchase supports corrections and re-downloads for 30 days.
What families ask
Does the program include all Mass prayers and readings?
It includes section headings, Scripture references, ministers, and song titles. The site supplies selected full readings only when an authorized, hash-pinned official U.S. corpus is active. Otherwise, a parish or presider may supply exact service-specific text, which prints only after permission is confirmed. The optional traditional Latin Sanctus, Pater Noster, and Agnus Dei and a small verified public-domain hymn library can print without a commercial text license; protected current English or Spanish ritual wording still requires an authorized corpus or parish-supplied permission. Confirm every selection with the parish before printing.
What if the service will not include Mass?
Choose Funeral Liturgy Outside Mass. The Eucharistic Prayer and the other Mass-only elements are removed. Holy Communion outside Mass appears only when the parish explicitly directs that it be included.
What if no body or cremated remains will be present?
Choose the no-remains or memorial situation and confirm the wording with the parish. The program will not present the reception of the body, funeral pall, or Final Commendation as though remains were present.
Can the priest or parish review it?
Yes. Send a role-specific private task link for reading suggestions and approved text, create a separate view-only review link, or download the planning sheet. Nothing submitted through a task link changes the booklet until the organizer approves it.
